Being an Education Assistant is both a rewarding career and a meaningful calling.
Education Assistants can make a difference in the lives of children and families. They respect and value each learner, upholding every child's right to learn in their unique way. Education Assistants foster inclusion and empower children to achieve their potential. TWU’s Education Assistant Certificate combines theoretical knowledge with supervised, practical experience in schools, preparing you to understand and support the diverse learning needs of K–12 students both confidently and competently. Taught from an integrated worldview, TWU’s EA Certificate program views children with disabilities or diverse abilities as unique and valuable, each created with dignity and purpose in God’s image.
The certificate is available in two flexible formats: a full-time in-person option for those starting their careers as education assistants and an online option that can typically be completed in one to two years for those already working in educational settings. Additionally, TWU offers EA micro-credentials, which are five-week courses aimed at educators seeking targeted professional development and specialized skill building.
A unique feature of TWU’s EA Certificate is that if you are interested in pursuing the BA/BEd program, you can ladder one course (equivalent to three general education credits) into the bachelor’s degree.
