History

Situated at 252 Metcalfe Street, leading directly to Parliament Hill, the Laurentian Leadership Centre is a well-known Ottawa address. Originally built by lumber baron John R. Booth and then home to a prominent Ottawa club, the Laurentian Leadership Centre is infused with history.

In 1990, the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada designated 252 Metcalfe Street as a National Historic Site as a particularly good example of the Queen Anne Revival style. Including all of the buildings on Parliament Hill, there are 24 designated National Historic Sites in Ottawa. The Laurentian Leadership Centre/Booth House is one of only three not owned by the federal government.
