Scholarships

Scholarships are a form of financial aid given by TWU that recognizes your academic achievement. These awards do not require repayment, and are renewable every year.

Academic Scholarship

High School Students

President's Scholarship (90.0% +): $7,000 per year 

Provost's Scholarship (85.0% to 89.9%): $5,000 per year

Dean's Scholarship (73.0% to 84.9%): $3,000 per year

Entrance Award (65.0% to 72.9%): $2,000 per year

Semester Hour Scale: The amounts above are based on a full course load (15 semester hours) and will be adjusted according to your course load.  For example, if you take 16 semester hours, these awards will increase by 1/15th. If you take 14 semester hours, these awards will decrease by 1/15th. All other award categories remain constant, regardless of semester hours (12 hours minimum).

When you register for classes for any semester, your award package will be updated to reflect any changes. 12 semester hours remains the minimum to receive Financial Aid from TWU.

Eligibility: Students whose most recent education is high school and pursuing full-time studies (12 hours minimum) at TWU. Transfer students see below.

Renewal: Students must re-apply for academic scholarships each year. A cumulative GPA of 3.5 must be maintained to renew President's Scholarship, a cumulative GPA of 3.0 must be maintained to renew Provost's Scholarship, and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 must be maintained to renew the Dean's Scholarship. Students are eligible for scholarships and grants beyond their fourth year, if needed.

Deadline: Students who apply for admission before February 28 will receive priority for funding.

Transfer Students

President's Scholarship (3.80 +): $5,000 per year 

Provost's Scholarship (3.30 - 3.79): $3,500 per year

Dean's Scholarship (2.50 - 3.29): $2,500 per year

Entrance Award (2.00 - 2.49): $2,000 per year

Music Scholarship

Amount: Up to $3,000 per year

Eligibility: Students who are pursuing a major in music are encouraged to apply. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of musical and artistic talent in the areas of voice, instrumental, and piano.  An audition tape/CD with 2 pieces of contrasting styles are required along with the application. Theatre Scholarship

Amount: Up to $2,000 per year

Eligibility: Students who are pursuing a major in theatre are encouraged to apply. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of artistic talent in various aspects of theatre arts. An interview is required.
