On December 4-5, up to 15,000 Langley citizens stroll through the brightly lit trees, sipping hot chocolate and taking in the holiday cheer.

The Great-West Life Spirit of Christmas Celebration, presented by TWU and Sodexo, brings thousands of community members to campus to enjoy a free weekend of festivities each winter.

The event's mission is to invite the wider community onto our campus. Highlights from the weekend include the traditional Living Nativity put on by the TWU theatre department, free food, musical guests and a craft fair featuring local artisans.

The whole family can enjoy this weekend with crafts, story-telling, face painting and a petting zoo for the little ones.

TWU students help make this event a success by giving their time to direct traffic, hand out popcorn as well as many other needed jobs.

Another goal of Spirit of Christmas is to represent our university. Student volunteers gives the Langley community a feel for the heart of TWU. It’s also a great opportunity for students to extend a hand of hospitality.

Mike Wipf and Kari Bergrud (video) are the Spirit of Christmas producers, both TWU alumni who were involved in Student Leadership during their four years here.
