Students encounter poverty on San Francisco missions trip

Over spring break, 10 students gave up a relaxing week at home to serve with their hands at the Bay Area Rescue Mission in San Francisco. Andrea Smith co-led the group who were pushed out of their comfort zone by suddenly being immersed in a world “very different from lower-mainland life.” Full story

Earth Week encourages students to think about creation care

One person’s trash is another’s treasure. This is definitely true as part of Earth Week, March 15-19. Leianne Gunter, the president of A Rocha TWU, is excited to launch their biggest event of the year. It is designed to increase awareness of environmental issues through numerous events such as bringing old clothes and goods to a SWAP. Full story

Mark Wiens won’t be going home this spring break. He is co-leading a Global Projects missions trip to Calgary, Alberta. Mark felt a strong call to take this role after his positive experience leading last year’s missions trip to Sacramento, California. “Missions has always been close to my heart,” said Mark.
