How to apply for TESOL Program Certificates

Three certificate options to choose from

1. TESOL Certificate (full) 26 credits

LING 210 (2) - Language and Society - (offered Fall, Spring & Summer)
LING 268 (3) - Introduction to TESOL - (offered Fall, Spring & May/June)
LING 301 (1) - TESOL Volunteer Practicum - (offered Fall, Spring, & Summer)
LING 302 (3) - Cross-Cultural Communication - (Fall, Spring & as travel study in summer) (or LING 481)
LING 305 (3) - The Grammar of English for TESOL - (offered Fall, possibly Spring, & May/June)
LING 306 (3) - The Sound System of English - (offered possibly Fall, Spring)
LING 410 (3) - Teaching Listening and Speaking - (offered Fall & Spring)
LING 420 (3) - Teaching Reading and Writing - (offered Fall & Spring)
LING 401 (1) - TESOL Teaching Practicum - (offered Fall, Spring, & Summer)

Plus four TESOL electives (see below)

The TESOL Certificate can be completed in one year.

2. Certificate in Fundamentals of English Language Teaching (short) 10 credits
