Spartans Volleyball This Weekend On Spartans TV

This weekend the TWU Spartans will be hosting the University of Winnipeg Wesmen in Canada West men's volleyball play-off action. The winner of the best of three Canada West quarter final will advance to the Canada West Final Four.

The games are on Thurs. Feb. 25, Fri. Feb. 26 and Sat. Feb. 27 if necessary. Match times are at 7 p.m.

STV releases 2009-10 broadcast schedule

Beginning in the fall of 2009 Spartan Athletics will begin a new era in sports broadcasting as it officially switches from being a web radio sports broadcaster to web television sports broadcaster.

Spartans TV will have the most comprehensive broadcast campaign ever in Spartans broadcast history.  The 2009-2010 Spartans TV broadcast season features a 40 plus game regular season schedule of soccer, volleyball and basketball, plus extensive playoff coverage.

For the first time ever, Spartans TV will carry four regular season soccer matches. Spartans TV's first soccer broadcast will feature the defending CIS women soccer champs, the TWU Spartans, hosting the University of the Fraser Valley on Saturday, October 10 at 5pm Pacific.  The second match-up will feature the 2009 CIS men's championship host, the TWU Spartans and the Fraser Valley Cascades Saturday, October 10th at 7:15pm

Another first for Spartans TV will come when Spartans' volleyball opens its 2009-2010 regular season at the all new Langley Events Centre.  These games will happen on Friday, October 13 with the women's team battling the UBC Thunderbirds at 6pm Pacific, followed by the men's match against the TBirds at 8pm Pacific.

Spartans TV will also continue its in-depth coverage of Spartans' basketball this season. Our first basketball broadcasts will come on Friday, November 20 when the University of Victoria Vikes travel to the Langley Events Centre to battle our women's and men's basketball teams.
