TOUGH WEEKEND AT UNBC FOR SPARTANS

PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University men’s soccer team dropped their second match in two days to the University of Northern British Columbia Sunday evening in Prince George, B.C. The Spartans heartbreaking 1-0 loss puts TWU at 3-4-1 in conference play, while the win moves the Timberwolves to 3-7.

PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia – UNBC rookie forward Brandon Wallace scored a hat trick to pace the Timberwolves to a 5-3 win over the visiting Trinity Western Spartans Saturday afternoon at the North Cariboo Senior Soccer League fields in Prince George, B.C. . The Timberwolves improve to 2-7 while the Spartans fall to 3-3-1.
POLETTO LEADS SPARTANS TO WIN OVER WOLFPACK

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Vito Poletto (Calgary) scored in the 41st minute and that was all the Trinity Western men’s soccer team needed as the Spartans nabbed a 1-0 win over Thompson Rivers Saturday at Rogers Field.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Playing in his first Canada West league contest in over a year, Dominic Reinold (Wesseling, Germany) made his presence felt less than four minutes into the game as he put the Spartans on the board early and sparked TWU to a 2-1 win over UBC Okanagan Friday at Rogers Field.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western men’s soccer team is hoping to bounce back when it returns home after going winless in three straight road games since last playing at Rogers Field. The Spartans will have a chance to get back in the win column this weekend when they play UBC Okanagan Friday and Thompson Rivers Saturday.

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University Spartans and the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack battled to a competitive 0-0 draw Friday night in Kamloops, B.C. The tie moves TWU to 1-1-1, while TRU gets their first points in Canada West at 0-0-1.

VICTORIA – The No. 9 University of Victoria Vikes men's soccer team got too comfortable too quick as the unranked Trinity Western Spartans made a late comeback after an early Vikes lead. The Vikes came away with the 3-2 victory to improve 1-1-0 in the Canada West, while the Spartans conceded their first loss to now also sit 1-1-0.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – First-year Trinity Western striker Vito Poletto (Calgary) scored just 19 minutes into his first ever Canada West contest and that turned out to be all the Spartans needed as they held on for a 1-0 win over Fraser Valley Friday at Rogers Field.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – After missing the playoffs in 2013, the Trinity Western men’s soccer team enters the 2014 campaign with its collective eyes firmly set on making an immediate return to the post-season dance. And with the return of nearly their entire starting unit plus a few key additions – via both players coming back from injury and new recruits – the Spartans look primed to do just that and return to Canada West prominence.
