VANCOUVER – The Trinity Western University Spartans needed a win to make the playoffs, and they pushed the UBC Thunderbirds to the limit, but the nation's top-ranked squad had just enough to pull out the 90-83 win Saturday night at War Memorial Gym in Vancouver.

ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University men’s basketball team struggled defensively and as a result fell to the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades 91-70 Saturday night at the Envision Athletic Centre in Abbotsford, B.C. The loss is the second on the weekend for the Spartans, which drops TWU to 9-8, while moving UFV to 11-7 and clinching the third play-off spot in the Pacific Division for the Cascades.

ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia – Led by Sam Freeman’s 35 points the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades scored a season high 104 points, as they coasted to 25 point, 104-79, victory over a shocked Trinity Western University Spartans in Canada West men’s basketball action at the Envision Athletic Centre Friday night in Abbotsford, B.C. The win moves the Cascades to 10-7, while the loss drops the Spartans to 9-7.
