LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western track and field team will be well-represented on the national stage this summer as seven athletes will compete for Team B.C. at either the 2013 Canada Summer Games or the 2013 Canadian Track and Field Championships.

COQUITLAM, British Columbia – Trinity Western’s Chris Voth (Abbotsford, B.C.) had the race of his life in the 5000m to lead the Spartans at the Coquitlam Cheetahs Annual Jesse Bent Memorial Meet as he finished first with a time of 14:46.10 at Percy Perry Stadium Sunday.

COQUITLAM, British Columbia – Trinity Western sprinter Liza Whitehead (Surrey, B.C.) posted a season’s best time of 12.01 in the 100m to lead the Spartans at the first ever Coquitlam All-Comers Meet, featuring Canada West schools, at Percy Perry Stadium.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western track and field team, alongside the University of Alberta and the University of Victoria, took a major step towards the concept of a CIS outdoor season as the Spartans hosted the first outdoor competition featuring Canada West schools in recent memory Friday at McLeod Athletic Park.

LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western track and field team bolstered an already strong pole vaulting team with the signing of Nathan Dunford (Bellingham, Wash.), who is the reigning 2A Washington State High School pole vault champion, Tuesday.

BURNABY, British Columbia – In Trinity Western’s first outdoor meet of the season, Spartans high jumper Emma Nuttall (Edinburgh, Scotland) broke the Achilles Cup meet record and earned first place overall at the SFU/UBC Dual Meet Sunday at Simon Fraser’s Fox Field.

EDMONTON – Led by high jumper Emma Nuttall (Edinburgh, Scotland), who earned a silver medal Saturday afternoon, the Trinity Western track and field team capped an impressive CIS championships, highlighted by the Spartans women finishing a program-best sixth overall at the University of Alberta’s Universiade Pavilion.

EDMONTON – Trinity Western’s Calum Innes (Bearsden, Scotland) earned the Spartans track and field team its first medal of the 2013 CIS championships with a silver in the 60m hurdles Friday evening and then, not long after, pole vaulter Rebecca Marchant (Melbourne, Australia) duplicated the feat as she nabbed second in her first ever appearance at the national championships.

EDMONTON – The Trinity Western women’s 4x200m relay team stole the Spartans spotlight on the first day of competition at the CIS championships, as the team became the first TWU foursome to qualify for a national final Thursday evening at the University of Alberta’s Universiade Pavilion.
