Event: In an art exhibition at Trinity Western University, B.C.’s Bill McKibbin, Gerry Thompson and Huibert Van Drimmelen will showcase a wide variety of original paintings, prints and art cards, which will be available for purchase. The artists, whose paintings are found in collections throughout the world, will be in attendance for the event. They are generously donating a percentage of their sales to TWU.
Dates and Times: May 11, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., official opening by TWU President Neil Snider at 8 p.m.; May 12, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Exhibition continues May 14 through 18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Place: Alumni Hall, Reimer Student Centre, Trinity Western University, 7600 Glover Road, Langley, B.C.
Background information: Bill McKibbin, who resides in and is inspired by the natural beauty at Qualicum Beach, B.C., is noted for his ability to create landscapes and realistic life subjects. His artwork is found in private and corporate collections and galleries in Canada, the United States, Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Gerry Thompson’s paintings are found in collections around the world. A graduate of the University College of the Fraser Valley who now resides in Port Coquitlam, B.C., Thompson expresses her fascination with the light-filled world of images and objects through water colour.
Huibert Van Drimmelen, originally from the Netherlands, has been painting B.C. scenery for over 20 years. His paintings have been purchased by corporate and private collectors from Vancouver, B.C. to London, England. Huibert’s art cards are also becoming collectables for travelers and art lovers. He and his wife operate a small gallery in Chilliwack, B.C., where they reside.
