Tina Wu, PhD, RCC, RSW

Associate Professor of Leadership

As a Christian, I am a passionate believer in serving others throughout my career as an educator, researcher, and clinician.  It is evident in my teaching and research to ensure the well-being of students, and meeting healthy aging, healthcare needs & quality of life of research collaborators.

Dr. Wu joined the TWU Master of Arts Program in 2010 and has a clinical partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health Authority EFAP program. Dr. Wu is a registered member of the BC College of Social Workers and BC Clinical Counsellor Association. She is a scholar and clinician with decades of research and clinical experience in the areas of healthcare Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI), healthcare needs and utilization of Chinese-speaking immigrants in BC, assessment and evaluation both quantitatively and qualitatively, and cross-cultural research in healthcare needs and leadership practice.  

Dr. Wu has served internationally as an educator and consultant. She was the president of Dr. Wu Clinical Counselling and Consulting Group, former Director and Associate Professor for the Social Work Department and Research Centre of Shih-Chien University, and Chairman and Associate Professor for Ming Shin University of Science and Technology.  In addition, she sits on several international Editorial Boards for knowledge translation purposes and to provide consultation to the next generation of researchers and scholars (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8873-3692)

Dr. Wu’s is a practitioner of thinking truthfully and acting justly. Her recent research focuses on the healthcare utilization of minorities to bring Diversity Equity and Inclusion to the BC healthcare system, quality of life of mature adults, and intergenerational integration education for mental health support.

Currently, she teaches graduate-level research methodology courses and employee engagement courses for the TWU Master of Arts in Leadership Program.
