Part Time Instructor in Music - Keyboard

Ron Koyanagi holds a Bachelor of Education in Music from U.B.C. and has been playing both Live Jazz and Worship Style piano for more than 30 years. His worship piano experience began in 1989 at the Langley Vineyard with Worship Leaders Brian Doerksen, Daphne Rademaker, Andy Park, Graham Ord, Dean Salyn, and many others as well as having played with the Promise Keepers Band for gatherings of 10,000 people. His desire is to encourage the next generation of worshippers and to share his experience. Ron has also taught Worship Piano Workshops in various churches throughout the years and enjoys teaching students how to create more out of simple Chord Charts and sharing his heart for Worship.

Ron’s passion and experience in Jazz Piano has provided him opportunities to perform professionally since 1980 on/in Cruise Ships, Hotels, Fine Dining Restaurants, and he continues to perform in local venues as both a Solo Pianist and in Jazz Combo settings. He also enjoys the Big Band sound and has played with the Vancouver Groove Orchestra, U.B.C. and Douglas College Big Bands, and has been an accompanist for Jazz Vocal Choirs and Musicals.
