Cynthia (Xin) Li, PhD, CFA
Dr. Cynthia Li is an Assistant Professor in Finance at Trinity Western University. She received her PhD in Accounting from Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University in 2020. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from University of British Columbia and a Master of Science degree in Statistics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Before she joined Trinity Western University, she has been working as an equity research analyst and investment banking analyst at different boutique investment banks for two years, where she gained abundant financial modeling experience on IPOs and M&As. She also taught a variety of accounting courses at Simon Fraser University and Douglas College.
Dr. Li’s research interest lies in Corporate Finance, Corporate Social Responsibility and Managerial Accounting. She has published six papers in solid academic journals, e.g., Applied Economics, Global Finance Journal, etc. Her PhD dissertation investigates how employee retention and managerial risk tolerance shape firms’ CSR performance, and how executive personality in customer firms shapes investment decisions along the supply chain.
