Chris H. Christiansen, MTS

Part-time Instructor of Leadership

Chris is a part-time instructor at the TWU Richmond campus, teaching Culture and Christianity. He has been married to his beautiful wife, Amy for close to three years. He is part of a street evangelism team called Disciples Ready in Mobile Evangelism (DRIME) which performs dramas about the Gospel on the street of Vancouver to share the truth about Jesus Christ. He did his thesis on the question of whether Jesus was a historical person. He continues to study the historicity of the Resurrection with a focus on how it impacts the truth claims of other religions and worldviews. He enjoys reading, writing, acting, and watching movies in his spare time. He has also done several debates on the question of the historicity of Jesus, the resurrection, physician-assisted suicide, and the morality of abortion. He is always up for a philosophical discussion. He enjoys sharing what he knows with his students.

  • M.T.S.

Chris’ master’s degree is in Theological Studies and his focus is on apologetics. In this thesis work, he focused on the question of the whether Jesus of Nazareth was a historical person? This involved looking at questions such as do miracle stories make the Gospels unreliable? Do we know who the New Testament authors were? Why are they contradictions in the Gospels? Did the Gospels make up people and places? Were the New Testament stories simply copied from the Old Testament? And was the story of Jesus plagiarized from old pagan myths?

  • B.A., cum laude, Summit Pacific College

Chris’ B. A. was in Youth Leadership. This involved learning several different skills. 1) Effectively communicating the Bible to teenagers. 2) Learning about contemporary issues that youth face. 3. How to counsel them. 4. How to be a pastor.
