Designed for international students, this one year program delivers 36 semester hours of credit university courses (including core liberal arts and "stream" courses in Business, Social Sciences, or the Arts). Students have more time each week for each course and take an additional "Integration and Engagement" course to help them develop language, culture, critical thinking, and academic skills. This program is cohort-based and helps international students become confident and successful for the rest of their degree. Students transfer this year of study into TWU or another university.
Freshman Academy is a cohort-based one-year program, combining a first year of credit with an environment of camaraderie, accountability, and support. This program is designed for students whose high school scores fall slightly below the admission requirements, for students who are missing an academic course, and for students who desire a strong, supportive start to university. Retreating from today's hectic life-styles, this type of concentrated format in an out-of-the-way country location, provides an opportunity for professors and students to have a deeper impact in each other's lives. Together they experience all aspects of life as they exchange ideas, build community, and participate jointly in recreational and basic living activities.
TWU offers elementary, middle & high school teachers practical courses for professional development. Most of the courses can be applied towards the Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership (which ladders into TWU’s MA in Leadership - Education stream) or the Graduate Certificate in Christian Schooling (which ladders into ACTS Seminaries’ MA in Christian Studies).
