Basketball

• Complete Champion Spring Camp
  

  March 25-28, 2013
  Girls & Boys 8-16 yrs
  Camp will focus on offensive individual player development.  Learning to score comes through developing solid fundamentals in areas of ball handling, proper shooting form and ability to attack off the dribble. These three areas will be focused on in a development plan from the base up.  Players will take new skills and in competitive situations and experiment in finding a comfort zone where their new skills compliment their athleticism.

   August 26-30, 2013
  Boys & Girls 13-17 yrs
  Hosted by Spartan Women's basketball, this camp will focus on teaching fundamentals and enhancing skill development. The camp will cover physical, technical, tactical and mental aspects of the game preparing you before you head back to school!  The Spartan women's coaching staff and players will train and encourage all the athletes in how to take their game to the next level.

  Hosted by Spartans Men's basketball, this camp will focus on teaching fundamentals and enhancing skill development in all aspects of the game. It will cover physical, technical, tactical and mental aspects of the game preparing you before you head back to school! Athletes will be divided by skill level allowing each athlete to be challenged accordingly! The Spartan men's staff and players will train and encourage all the athletes in how to take their game to the next level.

  This action-packed camp combo will allow you or your son and/or daughter to sharpen skills in both Volleyball and Basketball at two of our most sought after camps! Spend your morning focusing on volleyball, take a one hour lunch break, and then enhance your skills on the basketball court for the afternoon. Both camps will focus on teaching fundamentals and enhancing skill development in all aspects of the games. They will cover physical, technical, tactical and mental proponents preparing you before you head back to school!

  The Kids Spartan Basketball camp introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of the game in a fun & exciting environment. Coached by members of the basketball program, your child will be given instruction in ball-handling, shooting, scoring, defense, movement and teamwork skills that will help them develop confidence in the building blocks of the game.

  Girls ages 6-12
  The Spartan Soccer Day Camp will focus on developing basic technical skills of the game in a fun-filled and challenging atmosphere. Included in the camp will be age-appropriate technical drills, daily skill competitions, small sided games, and the "World Cup" tournament on the final day. Come learn, train, and improve your game as you prepare to take your game to the next level!

  Girls ages 12-15
  Developing the Complete Champion player, this camp is for girls with aspirations of playing at the university level. The camp will focus on technical skills in a competitive environment and develop the tactical skills required at the highest levels. Players will be put through training sessions by current TWU players in addition to the Spartan Coaching staff. Experiencing various aspects of the Spartan Women's Soccer program the camp will expose the player to leadership development and team building exercises in addition to athletic development.

• Spartan University Prep Overnight Camp
  

  July 22-26, 2013
  Girls ages 15-17
  ***LEVEL REQUIRED: METRO/HPL, contact spartancamps@twu.ca if questions or concerns.
  The camp is geared for players that have University aspirations and are within 3 years of graduating. Players will be exposed to competitive training sessions similar to the TWU Women's Soccer Program. The camp will include specific positional, technical, and tactical skills required at the university level. In addition to athletic development the camp will also include off the field training including leadership and character development and creating a positive team culture.
  
  Additional Info: The camp will feature 2 to 3 on-field training session. They will include specific focus on technical skills required at the university level. This will include tactical sessions where positional and system understanding are stressed. Players will get an opportunity to be placed in various positions and skill stations for specific training and focus on their position (ex. Stikers training and finishing drills).

  The Spartan Soccer Team Camp is geared towards developing players in their technical ability and tactical understanding of the game. Coached by Spartan coaching staff and current Spartan Women's Soccer players, sessions will include helping teams learn to play with the same Spartan Soccer Philosophies. Emphasis will be placed not only on individual performance, but on team development; defending as a team, and possession & attacking emphasis.
