Scott Allen is in his fifth year with the Spartans men’s basketball team after coming to Trinity Western in 2008.

In his first four years, Allen put together an overall regular record of 57-26 and a Canada West and CIS playoff record of 8-9.

Allen’s most successful season with the Spartans was in 2010-11, when he led TWU to its first CIS men’s basketball Final 8 and got them to the championship game, before ultimately losing to Carlton and settling for a silver medal.

Allen led his team to a school record 21-3 regular season mark and a Canada West bronze medal. The Spartans impressive regular season also included a TWU record 15-game winning streak.

The Spartans bench boss also guided TWU to a Canada West bronze medal in his first season at the CIS level after his team knocked off Brandon 82-71. The bronze medal capped off a successful season for the Spartans as they turned an overall record of 4-24 in 2007-08, prior to Allen’s arrival, into a 22-12 record in 2008-09.

Before arriving at TWU, Allen enjoyed a stellar career at South Surrey's White Rock Christian Academy. During his 15 years as head coach of the Warriors, Allen earned numerous team and individual awards – most notably three BC Boys (BCHSSBBA) "AAA" provincial championships in 1999, 2003 and 2005 – while compiling an impressive 503-117 record.

In addition to his head coaching duties at WRCA, Allen has coached Basketball BC's U17, U16 and U15 provincial teams. He has also been a head coach, an assistant coach or a guest coach at the Adidas All Canada All-Star game, Basketball Canada Regional Training Centre, the Super Pages Canada All-Star Game and the University of Florida Basketball Camp.

Allen also runs and owns One Pass Basketball Club, which nurtures athletes and trains new coaches.

In 2010, Allen also involved with semi-professional basketball as he coached the Langley-based BC Titans of the International Basketball League.

Allen and his wife Andrea have been married for 20 years. They have three children, Tyus, 17, Kealy, 15, and Saje, 11.
